A tribal war broke out between members of the “Saad” clan and others of the “Yelaksa” clan in the Mudug region in central Somalia.

The conflict began in the town of Galdoudub, near the river, where violent battles took place between the two sides using various types of weapons. Initial reports indicate continued battles and deaths and injuries on both sides, but the exact numbers have not yet been confirmed.

This war comes in the wake of a previous clash between the same fighters about five days ago, which led to the killing of at least 10 people and the injury of about 20 others.

The ongoing conflict has raised concerns among local and regional authorities, prompting the administrations of Galmudug and Puntland to announce their intention to deploy military forces in an attempt to suppress the tribal war. However, there has yet to be official confirmation of these measures.

The situation in the Mudug region remains tense, and the root causes of the conflict between the two clans remain unclear, but the consequences of their ongoing battle continue to reverberate throughout the region, causing widespread anxiety and instability.

In a related context, the government of the Galmudug region called for peace and an unconditional end to the war in the western part of the Mudug region, between the communities inhabiting the region.

The Galmudug government said it had sent a committee of ministers, parliamentarians and Mudug region authorities to end the conflict, and called on the parties to comply with the committees appointed by Galmudug and Puntland to ceasefire, end the conflict and bring peace.

He also asked the two parties to take into account the security forces that the authorities of the two countries agreed to deploy in the areas where the battles took place.
