The Moroccan capital, Rabat, is preparing to welcome Umm Kulthum, the “Star of the East,” on the stage of the Mohammed V National Theater, via “hologram” technology.

The “Mawazine Festival” announced in a promotional advertisement a special evening with magical hologram technology, to commemorate the great concert of the Star of the East, Mrs. Umm Kulthum, indicating that art is renewed with the names of legends.

The festival, which begins on Friday and continues until June 29, will witness a second night with the Umm Kulthum hologram due to the great demand. The organizers announced that the second night will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at the Mohammed V National Theater.

This event is considered a continuation of the use of “hologram” technology in re-presenting Umm Kulthum’s songs.

A concert was previously held at the Dubai Opera House in 2019, in which Umm Kulthum appeared using hologram technology. The experience was repeated at a concert held at the Egyptian Opera House in 2020, and inside “Abdeen Palace” in Cairo, and in 2021 the same technology was used to present a concert by the artist in the Saudi city of Riyadh.

The Jordanian audience regained the presence of Umm Kulthum at a “hologram” ceremony held last year at the Palace of Culture in the capital, Amman.

These events witness a large turnout, which reflects the audience’s love for Umm Kulthum and their desire to re-experience the magic of her concerts through modern technology.

Hologram technology highlights its role in preserving cultural and artistic heritage and presenting it in new and innovative ways to different generations.
