The cities of Al-Subay’a and Ghadames in Libya recorded a noticeable rise in temperatures, making them occupy a place on the list of the highest temperatures recorded globally.
The National Meteorological Center in Libya announced on its Facebook page the list of cities that witnessed the highest temperatures yesterday, with Al-Subay’a ranked eleventh and Ghadames ranked fourteenth in the world.
According to the center, the maximum temperature in Al-Subaiya yesterday reached 46.2 degrees Celsius, while Ghadames recorded 46 degrees Celsius.
On the other hand, the Qassim region in Saudi Arabia topped the list with a temperature of 49 degrees Celsius, followed by Ain Saleh in Algeria with 47.6 degrees Celsius, then Al-Ahsa in Saudi Arabia with 47.4 degrees Celsius.
It is noteworthy that “Death Valley” in California, United States of America, recorded the highest temperature ever, reaching 56.7 degrees Celsius on July 10, 1913, while Matariya in the State of Kuwait recorded a temperature of 54.0 degrees Celsius on July 21, 2016.
Furnace Creek, California, USA recorded a temperature of 54.4 degrees Celsius in August 2020 and July 2021, and Aswan in Egypt recorded a temperature of 48.1 degrees Celsius.
