Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and his Egyptian counterpart, Sameh Shoukry, held a joint press conference in the Turkish capital, Ankara, to discuss regional files, including the situation in Libya.
During the conference, Fidan stressed the commitment of Turkey and Egypt to support the stability and unity of Libya, noting that the two countries discussed ways of continuous cooperation to achieve this goal.
Fidan said the discussion dealt with “working together effectively for the stability of Libya,” and stressed the agreement of Egypt and Turkey to continue talks and discuss all possible proposals for their implementation.
Shoukry also held closed-door talks with Fidan and is scheduled to meet Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The meetings follow a historic visit by Erdogan to Egypt in February, the first of its kind in more than a decade, which had an impact on the normalization of relations between the two countries.
