The Libyan Government of National Unity conducted massive maneuvers near Tarhuna with the assistance of its Ministry of Defense.

The military activities were based on large-scale training for combat units, as they developed their skills in using military aviation and artillery against supposed enemy positions.

The 444th Brigade of the Libyan Armed Forces participated in the drill, under the leadership of Brigadier General Mahmoud Hamza, whose mission is to enhance security and combat organized crime.

The drill included extensive training to combat fuel and drug smuggling, and combat illegal immigration in areas such as Tarhuna, Bani Walid, and other areas in southwestern Libya.

These exercises are carried out under the direct supervision of military advisors from the Turkish army.
