Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerikaya announced on Tuesday that authorities had arrested 147 people on suspicion of links to the Islamic State group in nationwide operations.
In a post on the” X” platform, Kaya said police had arrested the suspects in simultaneous operations in 30 provinces.
Kaya added that it turned out that the suspects were active within “ISIS”, engaged in an armed conflict within the organization and helped finance it.
The announcement comes just days after the terrorist attack on a concert hall on the outskirts of Moscow killed dozens.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan told a rally in the capital Ankara that Turkey shared Russia’s pain, adding: “We will continue our fight against terrorism, the common enemy of humanity.”
