Tunisian President Kais Saied announced his intention to run for a second term during a speech marking the twenty-fourth anniversary of Habib Bourguiba’s death.
During the speech, Saeed criticized some parties that boycotted the legislative elections, pointing to their eagerness to participate in the presidential elections.
The Tunisian president accused some parties of “falling into the arms of the outside”, calling for the candidate to be recommended by the Tunisian people and elected by him without external interference.
Saeed stressed his determination to continue his political career, stressing that there will be no retreat in cleansing the country of corruption, and confronting the conspiracies hatched against it.
The Tunisian president also noted the awareness of the Tunisian people of the challenges facing the country, and their determination to defend Tunisia’s independence and history.
