Tunisian President Kais Saied emphasized on Wednesday, December 27, the constants of Tunisian foreign policy and the independence of national decision-making, calling for intensifying international diplomatic efforts to stand by the Palestinian people.
The meeting between the Tunisian President and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nabil Ammar, addressed, according to a presidential press release, the role of consuls in providing the best services as quickly as possible to Tunisians residing abroad. Saied affirmed that ‘the sovereignty of the state abroad is an extension of the people’s sovereignty at home.
The President of the Republic also called on the Minister of Foreign Affairs to intensify diplomatic efforts on all international fronts to stand by the Palestinian people and to stop this savage Zionist aggression against them. He affirmed Tunisia’s steadfast position in support of the Palestinian people’s right to establish their independent and fully sovereign state in all of Palestine with its capital in East Jerusalem.
Earlier, Kais Saied called on the Ministry of Interior for ‘increased vigilance and attention’ in the face of attempts to distort his country’s supportive stance on the Palestinian cause.
Saied explained that vigilance is required ‘especially in this circumstance where the Tunisian people express their unconditional support for the Palestinian people and their unlimited support to reclaim their dormant rights in all of Palestine.’
He affirmed that ‘there are those who seek to infiltrate to tarnish the steadfast position of the Tunisian people, in addition to the hidden ranks of the global Zionist movement, which is accustomed to treachery and betrayal and has no goal other than destroying societies and detonating countries and homelands,’ without specifying a particular entity.
