Tunisian authorities arrested Najm Eddine Mezoughi, Secretary General of the Tunisian Airlines Union, while he was trying to flee to Libya via the Ras Jedir border crossing.
The official spokesman for the Tunis Court of First Instance, Mohamed Zeitouna, stated that security forces were able to arrest Mezoughi, who was included on the wanted list as a result of judicial investigations ordered by the Public Prosecution Office at the Tunis Court of First Instance.
The charges against Mezoughi included forging academic certificates, mediating in prostitution, and setting up a place for that purpose. He was also accused of receiving bribes by extracting sums of money to interfere in the recruitment and promotions of the Tunisian Airlines Corporation.
Zeitouna explained that investigations are ongoing to uncover all the circumstances of the cases in which Mezoughi is involved and to identify all those involved with him.
