Tunisian Foreign Minister Nabil Ammar stressed the important role the Vatican can play in ongoing international efforts to end the “genocide” in the Palestinian territories.
The Tunisian minister’s remarks came during his meeting with the Vatican Ambassador to Tunisia, residing in Algeria, Corian Matthew Vayalongal.
Ammar stressed the importance of promoting a spirit of understanding and peaceful coexistence between religions, noting the commitment of the Tunisian authorities to provide appropriate conditions for the work of religious and educational institutions of the Catholic Church in Tunisia.
The two sides praised the excellent diplomatic relations between Tunisia and the Vatican State for fifty years.
For his part, the Vatican Ambassador to Tunisia expressed his appreciation for the effective role played by Tunisia in supporting the values of peace, brotherhood, and tolerance in the world.
