Tunisia is preparing to deploy a new military air transport force in the Central African Republic, consisting of 75 individuals, within the framework of supporting the United Nations mission to achieve stability in this African country.

The “Tunisian News Agency” reported that “the period of deployment of the military unit was set at one year, as of July 1, and it is a period that can be renewed for an additional year.”

Its main mission will be the airlift of personnel and equipment within the mandate of the United Nations Multidimensional Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA).

The “MINUSCA” mission was established in April 2014 with the aim of deploying peacekeeping forces to stop the fighting and civil war that broke out in the Central African Republic in late 2013. This step is part of broader international efforts to achieve security and stability in the country.

It is noteworthy that Tunisia has several military units already operating under the United Nations banner in the Central African Republic, which reflects its continued commitment to participating in international peacekeeping operations.
