The Tunisian National Guard announced on Friday that it had thwarted 14 maritime border crossings and the rescue of 633 illegal immigrants of African nationalities in the Sfax region.
Its units also caught 77 organizers of illegal immigration operations in Sfax, the guards said.
Other units were also able to arrest a person who was in the process of transporting 4 Africans to the same territory to participate in a surreptitious sailing, and the necessary legal measures were taken.
