Tunisia fell five places in the Global Happiness Index, ranking 115th globally, compared to 110th the previous year, according to the United Nations report.
At the Arab level, Kuwait ranked 13th globally and first in the Arab world, then the UAE ranked 22nd, then Saudi Arabia 28th, Bahrain 62nd, Libya 66th, Algeria 85th, Iraq 92nd, Palestine 103rd, followed by Morocco 107th, Mauritania 111th, Tunisia 115th, Jordan 125th, Egypt 127th, Comoros 132nd, Yemen 133rd, Lebanon 142nd.
Finland came in first place for the seventh consecutive year, followed by Denmark, Iceland, Sweden, the Netherlands, Norway, Luxembourg, and Switzerland, while Afghanistan came at the bottom of the list.
The report is based on multiple factors, including GDP per capita, healthy life expectancy, and the opinions of the population of countries, and its results are based on opinion polls that ask participants to rate the extent of social support they feel, their freedom to make personal decisions, the extent of corruption in their communities, as well as the level of generosity and tolerance.
