The Tunisian Ministry of Transport announced the continued closure of the border crossing (Ras Jedir) following the Libyan authorities’ decision to suspend the movement of passengers and goods as a result of the events taking place in Libya.
The ministry confirmed in a statement on Wednesday that the movement of passengers and commercial movement will continue normally through the Dhiba crossing in the state of Tataouine.
It is noteworthy that the decision to close the crossing was made for security reasons after armed clashes took place on the Libyan side of the border.
On Sunday, the Interior Ministry of the Libyan Government of National Unity in Tripoli announced the deployment of security forces to control the crossing.
