Tunisian President Kais Saied and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Monday expressed their opposition to interfering in the internal affairs of other countries using human rights and democracy as a pretext.

During the talks, Wang stressed that the world suffers from uncertainty and instability, rejecting any party’s imposition of its own values and opposing interference in internal affairs under the pretext of human rights.

Wang expressed China’s willingness to strengthen cooperation with Tunisia in implementing joint global initiatives in development, security, and world civilization.

For his part, President Saied pointed out that Tunisia objects to double standards and interference in internal affairs in the name of democracy and human rights.

Saeed stressed the need not to repeat the history of colonialism, calling for avoiding a return to unipolar hegemony.

He also spoke highly of the global initiatives proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping, stressing his willingness to cooperate with China and other developing countries to safeguard common values and defend international justice.
