Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant stressed during a meeting with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Tuesday in Tel Aviv that intensifying pressure on Iran is “necessary” to avoid escalation in the region as the Gaza war continues.
Gallant said in a statement to the Israeli government that “increasing pressure on Iran is absolutely necessary and can prevent escalation in the region in other arenas.”
Gallant stressed during the meeting that “military operations in the Khan Yunis area in the southern Gaza Strip will intensify and continue.”
Blinken, whose country provides the largest political and military support to Israel in this war, arrived in the Jewish state after a regional tour aimed at preventing the escalation of the conflict in the region as a result of the repercussions of the war in the Gaza Strip.
