Three of Egypt’s most famous producers were killed on Thursday in an accident on the Dabaa axis road that connects Cairo to the North Coast.
The accident claimed the lives of Hossam Shawky, CEO of Synergy Productions, and his colleagues Mahmoud Kamal and Fathy Ismail.
The security services immediately moved to the accident site in an attempt to understand the circumstances, and provided first aid to the three producers who were sharing the same vehicle, but to no avail as they died on the spot.
The Synergy company, to which the producers belong, is considered one of the most prominent institutions in the Egyptian art scene, as Hossam Shawky supervised the production of prominent series such as “Why Do We Love Again” and “The Choice”, while Mahmoud Kamal led important productions such as “Nagi Atallah’s Band” and “The Oracle”, while Fathy Ismail entered the world of cinema by producing the film “Ana wa Ibn Khalti”.
Following the accident, artist Amr Saad announced the suspension of all his artistic work for a week in mourning for the passing of his colleagues. He mourned his colleagues on Facebook with touching words, calling on his fans to pray for mercy and forgiveness for them, and wishing them paradise.
