The management of the Libyan national team said that the Zambian Football Association apologized for playing the friendly match that was scheduled with the “Knights of the Mediterranean” on Sunday, at Benina Stadium.
This match was part of the Libyan national team’s preparations for the upcoming match with the Mauritius national team on June 6th of this year in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Milutan Sredovic, the coach of the Libyan national team, announced last Wednesday the official list of the team, which he chose to enter a closed camp in preparation for the resumption of the qualifying campaign.
The list included 28 players, all of them local players, as the coach decided not to rely on any Libyan professional.
It is noteworthy that after facing Mauritius, the Libyan national team will meet the Cape Verde national team on June 11, in the fourth round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
