Yesterday evening, Saturday, the Tunisian city of Dhiba witnessed protests that led to the closure of the Wazen border crossing with Libya and the prevention of travelers from crossing into Tunisia.
The Tunisian Presidency announced that President Kais Saied made a phone call with Abdelhamid Dbeibeh, Prime Minister of the National Unity Government in Libya, on Friday, June 7, 2024.
During the call, Saeed stressed the joint keenness to overcome the obstacles that hinder the reopening of the Ras Jadir crossing and provide the best conditions for travelers from both sides, in addition to facilitating commercial movement between the two countries.
It is worth noting that the Wazen border crossing is the only passage between Libya and Tunisia in the current period, after the closure of the Ras Jadir crossing from the Libyan side weeks ago.
Libya was elected to represent Africa in the International Labor Organization
