The latest report of the UN Fact-Finding Mission on Sudan (UNFFM) reveals the toll of the year-long conflict, which has killed thousands and displaced millions of people.

Stephane Dujarric, spokesman for Secretary-General António Guterres, said during a press briefing that the crisis had pushed more than six million people internally into displacement, while two million people had been forced to flee to neighboring countries.

Dujarric said some 24 million people were in dire need of humanitarian assistance.

In a related context, the French capital, Paris, will host an international conference on the crisis in Sudan and neighboring countries, with the participation of France, Germany, and the European Union, and attended by Joyce Mswea, Deputy Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs, to demand increased financial support and improved access to aid to the afflicted.

The UN Secretary-General will also share a video message that will be presented during the conference, emphasizing the urgent need for the international community to intervene and support relief efforts at this critical time.
