The UN envoy to Libya, Abdullah Batele, agreed with the special envoy of the French president, Paul Soler, on the need for Libya’s partners to assume their responsibility to facilitate a sustainable solution that ends the status quo and immunizes Libya from sliding into a protracted conflict that could endanger Libya’s territorial integrity.
The UN envoy to Libya said on his page on the “X” website that during the meeting, which was held in the presence of the French ambassador, Mustafa Maharaj, they discussed the political, security and economic situation in Libya.
France is leading a series of consultations to try to find a solution to get Libya out of the current political situation, aimed at reaching the organization of elections.
French President Emmanuel Macron’s adviser and special envoy to Libya, Paul Soler, is developing a new plan to resolve the crisis in Libya after failing to organize presidential elections that were supposed to be held in December 2021.
