The UN envoy to Libya, Abdullah Batelli, affirmed support for a comprehensive political process that achieves the interests of Libyans, stressing that the international organization does not seek to exclude any party from the Libyans in the east, west or south.
Batteley’s remarks came during his visit to Benghazi, where he met with the head of the Libyan government mandated by the House of Representatives, Osama Hammad.
Batelli stressed that the responsibility lies with politicians in Libya to achieve unity and stability in the country.
Batelli added that the international organization is working in cooperation with all parties in Libya without favoring one over the other, noting that the meeting with the prime minister-designate took place within the framework of following up on political developments and discussing ways to end the current impasse in the Libyan political process.
