The UN envoy calls on the Libyan factions to commit to reaching a political solution

The UN envoy to Libya, Abdullah Batelli, called on Libyan leaders and their international partners to commit to reaching a political settlement, aimed at resolving the crisis and ending the worrying situation in the country.

In a statement published on the X platform after meeting with EU Ambassador Nicola Orlando, Battelli said that the political and moral responsibility of Libyan leaders requires that they work to meet the aspirations of their people for unified and legitimate institutions and effective management of national resources, stressing the need for the international community to speak with a unified voice in support of this endeavor.
