The Israeli website “i24NEWS” said that the Emirati government stopped its diplomatic coordination with Tel Aviv, after the assassination of the seven aid workers in the Gaza Strip a few days ago.

The website, citing unnamed sources, reported that the UAE officially informed Tel Aviv of its decision, in protest against the assassination of volunteers of the “Global Central Kitchen” in Gaza.

The decision represents a crisis between the two governments.

He added that the UAE summoned the Israeli ambassador to Abu Dhabi, Amir Hayek, and informed him of its outrage over the assassination of aid workers.

He pointed out that efforts are currently underway to address the crisis, with Israeli Foreign Minister Yisrael Katz holding a phone call with his counterpart Abdullah bin Zayed.

Israeli Foreign Ministry Director General Yaakov Plichtein also met with Ambassador Mohammed Mahmoud Al Khaja in an attempt to reach a solution.

Ambassador Al Khaja described the current situation as “the darkest day in relations between the two countries,” according to i24NEWS.

There was no official Emirati or Israeli comment at the time of writing.

The UAE has strongly condemned the assassination of the volunteers of the “Global Central Kitchen”, and the targeting has seen widespread international condemnation against Israel.
