The US Marines confirmed on Thursday the death of 5 Marines after a helicopter carrying them crashed near the city of San Diego, California.
The U.S. military said the helicopter was heading from Creech Air Force Base in Nevada to Miramar Base in California, and the military had reported delays in the arrival of the helicopter, which took off on Tuesday night.
Rescue teams in California reported that difficult and muddy terrain was combed in rainy and snowy weather for the CH-53E Super Stallion helicopter, which was carrying 5 Marines.
Rescue teams found the helicopter in the Pine Valley area, southeast of San Diego, and the entire crew was pronounced dead.
