Tunisian President Kais Saied expressed his concern about the crisis of the closure of the Ras Jadir border crossing between Libya and Tunisia, during his meeting at Carthage Palace with the Minister of the Interior, Khaled Al-Nouri, and the Secretary of State to the Minister of the Interior in charge of National Security, Sofiane Belsadiq.
President Saeed stressed the need to overcome all difficulties with the Libyan side to reopen the crossing, which has remained closed for three consecutive months.
The Ministry of the Interior of the outgoing Government of National Unity in Libya previously announced the intention to open the crossing on Monday, but the opening was postponed, and movement at the crossing was limited to urgent humanitarian, health and diplomatic cases only.
The two sides hope to overcome the obstacles hindering the complete reopening of the crossing, given its vital economic importance, which will contribute to the normal resumption of commercial and humanitarian movement between the two countries.
