Tunisian President Kais Saied received at Carthage Palace Saudi Minister of Industry Bandar Alkhorayef and his accompanying delegation, stressing the importance of bilateral cooperation in sectors of common interest.
During this meeting, the Tunisian president praised “the depth of the relations of brotherhood and solidarity that exist between Tunisia and Saudi Arabia since before and after the independence of our country,” the Tunisian presidency said in a statement, reaffirming “the firm determination to continue working together to further strengthen and diversify these strong ties in various fields for the benefit of the Tunisian and Saudi peoples and their common interest.”
He also stressed “Tunisia’s keenness to provide a sound and appropriate environment to encourage businessmen and investors to invest in the country, establish partnership relations and exchange with their Tunisian counterparts in several promising sectors such as renewable energy, water desalination, health and pharmaceutical industries, and provide all the reasons for success for this cooperation in all fields.”
For his part, the Saudi minister pointed out that “the intensive and high-level participation of representatives of official structures and the Saudi business sector in the joint committee held in Tunisia reflects the great keenness of the Kingdom, under the directives of the Saudi leadership, to give a stronger impetus to bilateral cooperation in sectors of common interest.”
He also expressed “the determination of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to launch new projects and motivate businessmen and investors to strengthen their presence in Tunisia, in light of the reforms the country is witnessing that would restore confidence in the investment environment in it.”
The Saudi minister was accompanied at the opening of the 11th session of the Tunisian-Saudi Joint Committee by the CEO of the Saudi Export-Import Bank Saad Al-Khalb, the Chairman of the Council of the Federation of Saudi Chambers Hassan Al-Huwaizi, and the head of the Saudi side in the Tunisian-Saudi Businessmen Council Omar Al-Ajaji.
It is noteworthy that the 11th session of the Tunisian-Saudi Joint Committee will be held on December 26th and 27th in Tunis to study ways and mechanisms of bilateral cooperation, and raise its coordination in various fields, especially economic ones.
