Tunisian President Kais Saied on Tuesday dismissed the ministers of transport and culture, the presidency announced, without specifying the reasons for the dismissals.
Rabih Majidi and Hayat Qatat Crimzi, who have been in charge of the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Cultural Affairs since October 2021, were sacked, according to a statement issued by the presidency.
Kais Saied, democratically elected in October 2019, has full powers to dismiss and appoint, including the prime minister or his ministers at any time.
He sacked Prime Minister Najla Boden on August 1, 2023, to be replaced by a former central bank official, Ahmed al-Hachani, whom Saied asked to “overcome the enormous challenges” facing the country.
