The head of the Sovereign Council and the commander of the Sudanese army, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, confirmed that the army is ready to fight with the Rapid Support Forces until the end.
“Politicians who made an agreement with the RSF made a mistake in negotiating with the rebels,” al-Burhan said, adding that “their agreement is unacceptable and has no value.”
Burhan’s remarks came in a video speech broadcast by the Sovereignty Council via the application of “Telegram”, in which he announced, “arming the popular resistance with any weapon we have,” stressing that he will not prevent the Sudanese resistance from bringing any weapons, and Burhan added that “there is no reconciliation or agreement with the rapid support.”
It should be noted that the Rapid Support Forces and the Coordination of Civil Democratic Forces “Taqaddum” announced last Tuesday the signing of the “Addis Ababa” Declaration to work to stop the war in Sudan, noting the need for an immediate cessation of hostilities and the formation of one professional army that reflects all according to the declaration.
