The Sudanese army carried out intensive air strikes on neighborhoods in the city of Wad Madani, the capital of Gezira state, and the eastern and southern regions of the island, targeting rapid support sites.
As part of its advance in several axes in this state, army forces set up a rapid support ambush in the Dar es Salaam area, about 30 km west of Wad Madani, while Sudanese army forces are stationed in the city of Manaqal, about 60 kilometers west of Wad Madani.
The Sudanese army was able to advance in the eastern areas of the island after attacking a rapid support force that gathered in Jabal al-Buaida last Friday and was planning an attack on the city of al-Faw in eastern Sudan’s Gedaref state.
