The Sudanese army releases a video showcasing citizens’ celebrations of its control over areas in Omdurman (video)

The Sudanese army released a video on Friday of citizens’ celebrations in the city of Omdurman, west of the Sudanese capital Khartoum, after seizing parts of it.

Commenting on the video, the Sudanese army said: “These celebrations show that citizens celebrate the victory of the armed forces and their control of parts of the city.”

In a statement carried by army media, Sudanese Army Chief of Staff Mohamed Osman al-Hussein congratulated the leadership of the armed forces in Karary and engineers for completing the first phase of the “plan to cleanse the city of Omdurman from the desecration of mercenaries of the Rapid Support Militia,” wishing the completion of what he described as a complete victory in the near future.
