The President of the Republic of Rwanda, Paul Kagame, received the credentials of Nermin Essam Al-Zawahiri, Egypt’s new ambassador to Rwanda.
President Kagame and the new Egyptian ambassador held a bilateral meeting in the presence of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Director of the Office of the President of the Republic, and the Political Advisor to the President of the Republic, and the meeting discussed the overall bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to enhance them.
Ambassador Al-Zawahiri conveyed the President’s greeting to his Rwandan counterpart, expressing her aspiration to work to develop and strengthen relations between the two countries and achieve their common aspirations.
She pointed to the importance of relations between Egypt and Rwanda, especially as they are the two Nile Basin countries.
For his part, President Kagame affirmed the strong historical relations between the two countries and expressed his desire to strengthen joint cooperation in various fields.
He praised the efforts of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in achieving development and progress for Egypt, considering that Egypt’s leading role regionally and internationally in maintaining international peace and security.
