The latest classification issued by the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) on Thursday showed that the Russian national football team continues to maintain its position at 33rd place in the world.

The Russian team has been banned from participating in international tournaments since February 2022 due to the sanctions imposed on it as a result of the current events in Ukraine and was able to collect 1,506.58 points in the classification.

The sanctions imposed by” FIFA” and the European Football Association “UEFA” led to the exclusion of Russian clubs and teams from participating in international tournaments, making international participation by Russians limited to friendly matches only.

The Russian national team has not played any official matches since June 7, when it played a friendly match against the Belarusian national team and won 4-0.

Football organizations made it clear in the fall of 2023 that the sanctions would not be lifted until the end of the Russian military operation in Ukraine.
