The Russian embassy in Libya published a statement denying what a British newspaper reported about Moscow’s “plans” regarding migrants to Europe and confirmed that it was false news aimed at destabilizing Russian-Libyan relations.
The embassy said in its statement on Facebook: “The information contained in the British newspaper (Telegraph) about certain plans by Moscow aimed at flooding the West with migrants, is another idea from the whispers of their Western intelligence.”
The embassy continued: “It seems that the article was published in a hurry, because it is a lie, so that the West casts a shadow of lies and conspiracies on Russian-Libyan relations, and on Libyan efforts to combat illegal immigration.”
With articles like these, “the British are trying to cover up their behind-the-scenes policy of flooding Europe with illegal immigrants and changing the demographic map of the European Union,” the embassy said, adding that this is the goal the British and their allies have been pursuing since 2011, when NATO’s brutal bombing devastated Libya as a country.
