A humanitarian organization has returned eighty-three migrants to Libya after they went missing in the Maltese search and rescue area.

The “Alarm Phone” project, affiliated with the non-governmental organization “Watch The Med,” reported that the migrants were intercepted instead of being rescued and forcibly returned to Libya.

The humanitarian project emphasized the necessity of stopping such crimes in the Mediterranean Sea in a press release issued by the organization today.

It is worth noting that “Alarm Phone” was founded in 2014 and operates a direct phone line to assist refugees and migrants facing difficulties in the waters of the Mediterranean Sea, aiming to provide them with opportunities for survival.
