The three-day presidential election to choose a six-year president kicked off today in Russia.
The head of the Moscow Election Commission, Olga Kirillova, announced on Friday morning that all polling stations in the Russian presidential elections opened as usual at eight in the morning.
“Today voting began in the presidential elections in Moscow, and today all polling stations opened on time,” Kirillova told reporters.
“All the members of the commission started their work after the national anthem, and indeed, today everyone has a high festive mood and we are waiting for voters at the polling stations and ready to give everything they need,” Kirillova said.
The Russian presidential election will be held over three days on March 15, 16 and 17, 2024.
Four candidates, incumbent President Vladimir Putin (independent candidate) and three candidates from parties represented in parliament, Leonid Slutsky (Liberal Democratic Party), Vladislav Davankov (New People) and Nikolai Kharitonov (Communist Party of the Russian Federation), are competing for the post of President of the Russian Federation in the elections.
