Morocco’s futsal team achieved a remarkable feat by winning the title of African Nations champion for the third time in a row.
The victory came after beating Angola 5-1 in the final at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat.
Before the final, there was a standings match between Libya and Egypt, where Libya won via penalty kicks after the match ended with the two teams drawing with two goals for the same.
In terms of individual awards, the Moroccan national team players won several important awards, with Sofiane Shaaraoui winning the top scorer award, Bilal Bakkali winning the best player award, and Abdelkrim Anibia winning the best goalkeeper award.
Eight teams participated in this continental tournament, which lasted from April 11 to 21 in Rabat, where Group A included Morocco, Angola, Ghana, and Zambia, while Group B included Egypt, Libya, Namibia, and Mauritania.
Thanks to their qualification in the tournament, Morocco, along with Angola and Libya, will be among the participants in the next World Cup, which will be held in Uzbekistan from September 14th to October 6th.
