The head of Libya’s Presidential Council, Mohamed al-Menfi, met on Thursday with the team of presidential candidate Saif al-Islam Kadhafi to discuss the reasons for suspending his participation in the preparatory sessions for the National Reconciliation Conference.
The meeting was held at the headquarters of the Presidential Council, where it was attended by the President of the Council and members of the Preparatory Committee of the Conference, Ali Mesbah Bousbiha and Mohamed Saad Daboub, with the aim of achieving national stability through free and fair elections.
The meeting dealt with the work of the preparatory committee for the conference and shed light on the reasons for suspending the participation of the Kadhafi team in its sessions, in addition to discussing important files related to the future of the country.
The Chairman of the Presidential Council assured the members of the committee that he will personally supervise and follow up the file of national reconciliation, and that he will not allow this file to be used as a means of bargaining at the expense of the interest of the homeland.
This meeting highlighted important details regarding the suspension of General Al-Qadhafi’s participation in the preparatory sessions for the National Reconciliation Conference.
