Today, Wednesday, the Libyan Parliament, located in the east of the country, unanimously approved an additional budget for the government amounting to 88 billion Libyan dinars (about 18.3 billion dollars), to cover the remainder of the current year.

The approval came during a closed session chaired by Abdullah Belhaq, Parliament spokesman.

The parliament-designated government in Benghazi, led by Prime Minister Osama Hammad, obtained similar approval from the council last April for a budget worth 90 billion Libyan dinars.

This decision comes in the context of broader efforts to achieve stability in Libya, the west of which is suffering from a continuous deterioration in living conditions, while the east of Libya is witnessing a continuous rise in economic life.
