Mellitah Oil and Gas Company announced that the “El Fil” oil field, located in the Murzuq Basin in southwestern Libya, has obtained the International Organization for Environmental Standardization (ISO) certification.
The company stressed that this achievement reflects its firm commitment to the objectives of preserving the environment in its areas of operations and neighboring areas.
The company said in a statement published on its Facebook page that “the Elephant field obtaining the ISO certificate is the result of the efforts of the company’s General Department of Safety, which cooperated with all departments to achieve this goal during 2023, which was assigned to succeed on the eighth of January.”
The El Feel oil field is one of the largest in the Murzuq basin, holding more than 1.2 billion barrels of reserves.
