The Libyan government headed by Osama Hamad announced that it received support from the House of Representatives during the last session held, where the decision was issued unanimously to renew confidence in the government.

The government confirmed through its official statement, No. (14) of 2024, that this renewal constitutes evidence of the continuation of popular and political support for it, indicating its commitment to working in accordance with the approved legal frameworks and striving to meet the aspirations and needs of Libyan citizens in all areas, without discrimination or discrimination.

In the same context, the government stressed its role as a “government for all Libyans”, while emphasizing its relentless efforts to achieve further unification between national and sovereign institutions, and to work to prepare the atmosphere for the upcoming general elections.

The government also renewed its call to the international community and sister and friendly countries to support the Libyan people in strengthening their sovereignty and exercising it fully on their lands, calling on the oversight and judicial bodies within the country to ensure the implementation of the decisions issued by the House of Representatives with all effectiveness and integrity.

It is noteworthy that the Osama Hamad government was elected in Libya for the first time in March 2022, and this came after the Libyan House of Representatives assigned Hamad to form the government as a replacement for Fathi Bashagha, who was unable to enter the capital, Tripoli, to assume power from the head of the outgoing government, Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh.

The Libyan parliament voted unanimously, yesterday, Tuesday, to end the term of the Government of National Unity led by Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh , and to consider the Osama Hamad government as the “legitimate government.”
