“The Prime Minister of the Libyan House of Representatives, Osama Hammad, issued an important decision regarding the establishment of a new university in the city of Kufra, Libya.

The decision clarified that the new university will bear the name “Kufra University”, and will enjoy legal personality and independent financial disclosure, and will be affiliated with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the Libyan government.

Within the framework of the administrative arrangements, the decision confirmed the assignment of the Ministry of Higher Education to take all necessary measures to adopt the university’s internal regulations, in addition to accrediting the colleges and scientific departments necessary for the effective conduct of the educational process.

In a move that reflects the government’s commitment to providing strong leadership for the new university, Dr. Mansour Bou Baida was named its president, with the aim of achieving and developing the country’s higher education goals.
