Russian presidential spokesman (Kremlin) Dmitry Peskov announced that preparations are underway for Russian President Vladimir Putin’s participation in an event related to pouring concrete for the fourth reactor at the Dabaa nuclear plant, which Russia is building in Egypt.
Peskov, in response to a reporter’s question about Putin’s intention to participate, said: “Yes, preparations are already being made for it, and this ceremony is very important.”
“Our cooperation with Egyptian partners continues in a variety of fields, and it is a very important partner, including in the field of this cutting-edge technology, which is very important for the further development of Egypt,” Peskov continued.
Peskov stressed that Russia is an undisputed leader in the nuclear industry at the global level, and said: “We provide better, cheaper and higher quality services, and here it will be very difficult for other participants in this market to compete with us.”
The Dabaa plant will include four “+3” compressed water reactors with a total capacity of 4,800 MW (1,200 MW each), with the first reactor scheduled to be launched in 2028.
Rosatom praises the Dabaa plant for the best technologies and the highest standards of safety and security globally, according to the International Energy Agency.
