The Jordanian army announced in a statement that Royal Jordanian Air Force planes carried out 9 new airdrops of humanitarian aid to sites in northern Gaza with the participation of American, French, Belgian, Dutch, and Egyptian aircraft.
According to the statement, “This step comes as part of Jordan’s ongoing efforts to send more medical, relief and food aid to the people in the Gaza Strip, with the aim of mitigating the effects of the war and compensating for the acute shortage of food and medicine as a result of the continued Israeli war on the Strip.”
Since the start of the Gaza war, the Jordanian army has carried out “29 Jordanian airdrops, in addition to 23 airdrops carried out by the Jordanian armed forces in cooperation with brotherly and friendly countries,” including the UAE and Britain, the statement said.
U.S. C-130s “dropped more than 38,000 meals, providing life-saving humanitarian assistance and enabling civilians in northern Gaza to access vital aid,” the U.S. Central Command said in a statement posted on Platform X.
Humanitarian airdrops by U.S. forces contribute to the ongoing efforts of the United States and partner governments to alleviate humanitarian suffering in Gaza.
The joint operation is the third by the U.S. military with Jordan to deliver aid by air to the Strip in less than a week.
