The International Organization for Migration (IOM) announced that the war in Sudan has created the largest displacement crisis in the world, with nearly 10 million displaced people, including more than two million children distributed over more than 7,000 displacement sites within the country.
IDPs represent nearly two million families, including more than two million children under the age of five.
The International Migration Report predicted the worsening of high levels of acute food insecurity in Sudan, called for urgent interventions to mitigate the impact of the situation in the country on food security, strengthen community resilience, and call for cash support for the displaced.
The organization warned of the loss of the future of millions of children and said that millions of children in Sudan are deprived of their right to education due to the conflict, and called for urgent efforts to ensure their safety, protection from violence, and access to education.
