The International Federation of Football Association (FIFA) announced the inclusion of the Capital Cup of Egypt, which will be held in Cairo from March 18 to 26, as part of the “FIFA Series”.

FIFA said in a statement on its official website that the “FIFA Series” is “friendly matches played by teams from different continental confederations who usually do not have the opportunity to face each other.”

The FIFA said: “The FIFA Series will be experimental during 2024, led by the Egyptian Capital Championship, and will be the model for the adoption of the series extensively in the coming years.”

“The series will be held in Algeria, Azerbaijan, Saudi Arabia (two championships) and Sri Lanka in 2024, before Egypt joining as the fifth host of the series,” he continued.

Egypt, New Zealand, Croatia, and Tunisia will participate in the friendly tournament, which bears the name “Egypt’s Capital Cup”.

The “Pharaohs” team will meet New Zealand, Tunisia will meet Croatia in the semi-finals of the tournament, then the winners will face off in the final scene, while the two losers will play together to determine third place.
