The head of Yemen’s Supreme Revolutionary Committee, Mohammed Ali al-Houthi, stressed that any country that inserts itself into the US-led coalition in the Red Sea will lose its maritime security and be targeted.

Al-Houthi’s comments on Friday came during an interview with the BBC.

The Houthi spokesman, Mohammed Abdul Salam, has considered that “what threatens the region, and the countries of the Red Sea basin is the Israeli brutality and the American militarization of the sea in the service of Israel,” stressing that Yemen’s position “is right and responsible in its support for Gaza in the face of Zionist bloodshed.”

For his part, Abdullah bin Amer Naweb, deputy director of the Moral Guidance Department in the Houthi forces, said on his account on the “X” platform, “Maersk decided to divert all its ships to Good Hope due to the high security risks in the Red Sea.”

He added that “the risks are limited to Israeli ships or heading to occupied Palestine,” noting that after “the US-British threats to Yemen, the risks increase to threaten the entire global trade movement.”
