The President of the Sudanese Sovereignty Council, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, arrived Sunday morning (January 28th) in Algeria, on an official visit.

During the visit, Burhan will hold talks with President Abdelmadjid Tebboune on the course of bilateral relations and ways to enhance them, and issues of common interest between the two countries. International efforts to stop the ongoing war between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces have intensified for 10 months, with the approaching end of the 14-day period set by the extraordinary summit of member states of the African Development Authority (IGAD) on January 18, for army commanders Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan and Rapid Support Mohamed Hamdan Daglo “Hemedti” to hold a direct meeting between them to stop the war.  Analysts believe that the international community and the United Nations have developed a conviction that the crisis must be resolved as soon as possible in order to stop the terrible security and humanitarian deterioration in a country where more than 20 million people have lost the necessities of life, according to the latest United Nations report.
