The head of the Supreme Council of the Amazighs of Libya, Hedi Baraqiq, said that if no troops were coordinated to enter the Ras Jedir crossing, war would be the outcome.

The crossing is still closed so far and there are no signs of opening it, he said, until a final understanding is reached with the concerned authorities.

What happened in Ras Jedir is contrived, and the aim is to control Zintan militias over an area belonging to the Amazigh component in order to control and limit it, he said.

Behrak said that Interior Minister-designate Imad Trabelsi has a tribal and regional tendency, and seeks to control the perpetrator, using the ministry’s powers.

All the problems are caused by the lack of a unified government for the Libyan state that derives its legitimacy from free and fair elections on international standards, he said.

Those in power are involved in crimes, so they obstruct change and favor chaos, and the Security Council states benefit from this chaos through their Libyan agents, he said.

He explained that there must be a unified government, to go to the elections, which must be based on a legal basis that guarantees fair representation of all components.

The armed militias currently on the scene in the west of the country are mere tools used by external parties, he said.

Baraqiq’s warnings came amid continuing political divisions and internal tensions in Libya.
