The Council of Ministers, headed by Osama Hamad, appointed by the House of Representatives in Libya, decided to establish a new university called “Abu Sora University for Medical Sciences” in the Abu Sora municipality, west of the city of Tripoli.
This decision came within the framework of expanding the educational and medical infrastructure in the country after approving the largest budget in the history of Libya, worth 179 billion dinars.
According to the issued decision, the new university will have financial authority and an independent legal personality and will be affiliated with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
The Ministry was mandated to take all necessary measures to approve the university’s internal system and establish the required scientific departments for all semesters.
The decision is implemented immediately upon its issuance, with the cancellation of any provision that conflicts with it and includes calling on all concerned parties to implement it and publish it in the Official Gazette.
